Acquired Resistance to Thyroid Hormone (ARTH)

This is a challenging subject. I will first briefly describe my case followed by an overview of Impaired Sensitivity to Thyroid Hormone, what it means and a short description of the various types. We need to understand how thyroid hormone works at the receptor level and then progress onto the fields of toxicology and endocrine disruption. I will try to make it as clear as possible. I suggest you read one page at a time and take a break between each topic!

I can’t be sure, but it looks like many patients with brain fog have a mild form of ARTH. A trial of simeticone should confirm whether this is so or not.

We start our journey into ARTH with a look at my case history.
