This can be challenging for doctors used to observing physical abnormalities. If we are to understand functional disorders, we must use logical reasoning and rigorous science so that we can find the physical abnormalities which underly these &#8216;functional&#8217; disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes when a doctor is unable to understand a disorder\nthe doctor&#8217;s brain transfers the blame to the patient\u2019s brain. The patient is\ndeemed to have a \u2018<em>somatoform disorder\u2019<\/em>.
